Release Notes

R.NET 1.5.16 is a beta release towards R.NET 1.6. You are encouraged to use it now and give feedback.

This update is only available via nuget.org at R.NET Community and R.NET FSharp Utility. You are strongly encouraged to use nuget to manage the dependency of your work on R.NET.

See the documentation for setup and usage instructions.

Main changes:
Bug fix for Unixes: disable the C stack checking mechanism in R on Unix-like platforms. This was previously done, but another fix done for Windows in one of the recent packages broke it. R.NET needs to disable this stack checking, otherwise R.NET can become unstable and crash, especially on Linux. See issue #129. This is also a problem for the package rClr under development.

Reviews for this release

I found this project being a very experienced C# developer, but a total newbie in terms of R. I have found it very easy to tie together my C# code with existing R code. Very nice job!

Thank you for your appreciation. I just released an updated version 1.5.18 on NuGet; hope this works well for you and in any case feedback is welcome.

Since the NuGet install does not install R.dll and there is no download, this beta should be removed from your site.

You should go to the R project homepage (http://www.r-project.org/) to install a version of R on windows. R.NET is a bridge from .NET to R, not a replacement for R.
