X64 Support

Feb 3, 2011 at 12:06 AM

This is a great and useful project - but it is only x86!

Is there a road-map for x64 support?

Are there major hurdles here?

Hi ymekhanik,

I intend to make up R.NET as works on both x86 and x64, but it does not work well on x64.

In fact, such scenarios without calling Evaluate/EagerEvaluate methods go well. Unfortunately, the exceptional methods are critical for most users, and I don't really understand why they fail. It's the hurdle.

I just committed a changeset for x64 support. R.NET x64 may appear in the next release.

I naively pointed to by x84 R build on windows 7 64 and it appears to work fine.

C:\Temp>C:\R\R-2.12.0\bin\x64\R

R version 2.12.0 (2010-10-15)Copyright (C) 2010 The R Foundation for Statistical ComputingISBN 3-900051-07-0Platform: x86_64-pc-mingw32/x64 (64-bit)

It is however compiled on my machine from source, so I don't know if that helps

Great project!! Wiped out months of work, done and still to do!
